What denomination is your church?

“None!”

“Who is your parent organization?”

“We have none!  We are simply a Fellowship of Christians who want to understand and practice the Word of God as honestly as possible, without having to interpret it through tradition-tinted glasses.”

“It sounds too good to be true!  You mean you’re not limited by any organization or creed?”

“The only limitations in our freedom are those we find in the Word of God.  We are not bound by man-made creeds or traditions.  We do not have to defend some institutional position.  Our only concern is to defend the Word of God.  We are free in Jesus - free to speak where the Bible speaks, and free not to let our opinions become traditions.”

How is the church governed?

The organization of the church is based on the New Testament teachings that Jesus Christ is the Head and Supreme Ruler in the Church, which is His Body.  All members of the church are under His authority and share in the work of the ministry of the church according to the abilities and spiritual gifts which He has given to each one.

Following the guidance of the New Testament, leaders are selected for various tasks, to include both paid leaders and unpaid leaders.  They serve the whole church in planning, organizing and promoting the work of the church.

WestWay Christian Church is an independent body of born again believers.  It is not governed by any state or denominational body of control, rather, the Church is governed locally by Godly men (known as Elders) who have been chosen by the church body to have the spiritual over-sight of the congregation.

The Church follows the Scriptures as its guide in government and control.
