Hi.
I’m Mike, the Pastor of Student Ministries here at WestWay since October, 2005. I spent a couple of my Junior High years in the youth ministry of this church, and would have never guessed then that I’d be here now. But… here I am.
My wife, LuAnn and I attended Nebraska Christian College, and when I graduated in 1998, this ministry was just what I was looking for. Only problem was… they already had a great youth minister on staff and didn’t need me to come mess things up. After a year of serving food at Perkins and 6 years of ministry in Auburn, NE, I guess God decided I was about as ready as I’d ever be, so… here I am. (I’m also here.)
LuAnn and I have been married since 1994 (you do the math--as it is really awkward when people think she’s about 17 now) and have two daughters (Emily & Elizabeth) and two sons (Dakota & Josiah). I have no idea what we did before we had kids. God uses them every day to reveal Himself in amazing ways. I love my kids.
I also love students (other people’s kids). It’s awesome to be able to be a part of God’s working to shape lives as they set their course and set sail to discover new territory in life. I love taking students to places in life where they sense God’s presence and watching how they respond when He says… “Here I AM.”
