The resurrection of Jesus is the most important day in all of history. The Apostle Paul tells us that if Jesus has not been raised, then we are the biggest fools of all. Why does this matter so much? The Bible tells us that in the beginning, God made all things and they were good. He set the crown of his creation, mankind, in the Garden of Eden. They were tempted by the serpent, and gave in-sinning against God. While they were cast out of the garden, God has been in pursuit of mankind ever since, seeking to restore the relationship and reconcile us to Him and to one another. God sent his Son, Jesus, to be that Reconciler.
His sacrifice on the cross paid the price of our sin, and He bore the penalty of our sins upon Himself. Then, just 3 days later, He conquered not just sin, but death by raising to life. This is why we celebrate.
We Want To Make Your First Visit a Great One!
We hope you’ll join us at 1015am on Sunday April 12 to celebrate the life Jesus offers to all. We know visiting a church for the first time can be a little intimidating. Our goal is to help make your first visit with WestWay great and help you make a connection with Jesus and with his people!
Here are some things many people want to know about visiting us for the first time:
What time do you begin? How long will the service last?
We’ll start at 10:15am, and our service lasts 75-90 minutes.
Where are you located?
Our address is 1701 West 27th in Scottsbluff.
Do you have something for children?
Absolutely. Birth through 5th grade have opportunities to learn about Jesus designed especially for them. Of course, we don’t keep you from bringing children with you into the 1015 if this is more comfortable on a first visit, but our experience is they truly do enjoy the service designed for them. Either way, we love when entire families join us.
What should I wear?
At WestWay Christian Church, you’ll see all styles of dress. Some will dress up- suits and ties and dresses. Others will wear jeans and t-shirts. We may even see shorts if the weather is warm enough. Choose an outfit you already own, one you feel comfortable in, and join us.
What will we do? What can I expect?
We will sing some songs, offer Communion (open to all who call Jesus Lord), collect offering (don’t feel obligated to give) and share a message from the Bible.
Will you embarrass me?
We hope not! We want you to feel welcomed. You WILL NOT be singled out as a visitor. We don’t make visitors stand, raise their hand, or even fill out a card if you choose not to do so.
What time should I arrive?
We suggest you get here a few minutes early and enjoy a great cup of coffee. If you’re coming with children, it’ll take a few minutes to check them in for the first time. We want you to find a seat where you are most comfortable (some want up close – some want in the middle – some on the back row), and you’ll feel more acclimated to the room if you have a few minutes to adjust before the service begins. We’ll give you something to read while you wait for the service to start.
We hope this answers your main questions. We’d be honored if would be our guest.
