The 1015- School Appreciation Sunday
The 1015- School Appreciation Sunday
🗓 August 2, 2026
⏰ 10:15 AM - 11:45 AM
📍 Westway Christian Church, 1701 W 27th St, Scottsbluff, NE 69361, USA
If you serve in a school in any capacity, we’d love to invite you to be our guest. Whether you’re a teacher, principal, paraeducator, secretary, bus driver, custodian, cafeteria worker, counselor, coach, school nurse, maintenance staff member, or serve students in any other role—we want to take one Sunday to simply say: Thank you.
The work you do matters. Every day, you invest in the lives of children and students throughout our community, and we want you to know that your work is seen and appreciated.
During our gathering, we’ll hear from two local principals as they share about the joys and challenges of serving in education, how their faith in Christ has shaped the way they lead, and how our community can better support those who serve in our schools.
We’ll also take time to pray over every school employee as another school year begins, asking God to give wisdom, strength, peace, and encouragement for the year ahead. Whether you attend church regularly, haven’t been in years, or have never been before, you are welcome here. Our hope is simple: that you would leave encouraged, appreciated, and knowing there is a church in this community praying for you.
Please help us spread the word by inviting the school employees in your life. We’d love to honor and pray for as many people as possible before another school year begins.
The 1015 is our weekly gathering. We want to make your first visit a great one!
We know visiting a church for the first time can be a little intimidating. Our goal is to help you feel welcome and make a connection with Jesus and with his people.
Here are some things many people often ask when visiting a church for the first time:
WestWay Christian Church meets each Sunday at 1701 West 27th in Scottsbluff.
- Sunday School: Sundays at 9am. We currently have one class with more scheduled in Fall 2021.
- The 1015 (Our Weekly Gathering): Sundays at 1015am
What can I expect?
In total, our typical gathering time is 75 minutes in length. We will sing some songs with the words projected onto screens, one of our pastors will share a message from the Bible, followed by Communion (open to all who call Jesus Lord), and collect our weekly offering (don’t feel obligated to give).
What should I wear?
At WestWay Christian Church, you’ll see all styles of dress. Come as you are and expect to feel welcomed as our guest.
What about my kids?
We believe kids should have a blast at WestWay every single Sunday. We want them to feel welcomed and engaged. Some parents keep their children with them in our auditorium, while others prefer to send their children to one of our children’s ministry environments. This is the parents choice. A high priority for us is your children’s safety. Because of that, we have a detailed check-in process the first time you visit. You’ll want to leave yourself 5-10 minutes to get them signed in on your first visit. We have lots of knowledgeable staff available to help. A nursery is available and our children’s programming is available through 5th grade.
Will you embarrass me?
We hope not! We want you to feel welcomed. You WILL NOT be singled out as a visitor. We don’t make visitors stand, raise their hand, or even fill out a card if you choose not to do so.
We hope you’ll join us!
If you have questions, please call us at 308-635-2654 or send an email to office@westwaychurch.com.

Men, join us this summer as we study The Men We Need by Brant Hansen.
This group is an opportunity to grow in your relationship with Christ while building meaningful friendships with other men at WestWay. Together we’ll discuss practical, biblical principles for becoming the men God has called us to be.
Whether you’re married or single, a father or not, young or old, you’re invited to join us.
If you received a copy of The Men We Need on Father’s Day, bring it with you. If you didn’t get one, don’t worry—we still have a few copies available.
Location: WestWay Christian Church Time: Wednesdays, 6:30–8:00 PM
If you can’t make the summer group, another Men’s Group will begin on Wednesday, September 2, when Wednesdays at WestWay resumes for the fall.

The 1015
The 1015
🗓 August 30, 2026
⏰ 10:15 AM - 11:45 AM
📍 Westway Christian Church, 1701 W 27th St, Scottsbluff, NE 69361, USA
