To help get you started, spend a few minutes talking about some ways that familiarity with a story or situation causes you to grow bored with it. Is there a favorite book or movie from your childhood that now seems boring?
Read through each of the Old Testament references above. In what ways do you see the themes of glorious prophet, glorious priest, and/or glorious king?
Read through at least ONE of the Triumphal Entry scenes, how do you see Jesus representing each of these roles (glorious prophet, glorious priest, and/or glorious king)?
Jesus is the Glorious Prophet (feel free to read Hebrews 1:1-. In what ways does he proclaim truth to you? How is Jesus reminding you of your identity in Christ and calling you to himself?
Jesus is the Glorious Priest (feel free to read Hebrews 7&8). In what ways do you still bring offerings to God in order to win his favor or approval? What would it look like for you to place your trust in Jesus as final priest?
Jesus is the Glorious King (fee free to read Hebrews 1:3, 4:16). How is the idea of Jesus as supreme king, with authority over all things, a, “comfort to those who believe and a warning to those who don’t”? In what ways is Jesus your king?
