Paul called the early Christians the ambassadors of God. They came to view themselves as emissaries from the Kingdom of God, sent into the world to put His Kingdom on display. As they learned to live and love in the way of Jesus, they became a welcome contrast to the self oriented way of the cultures around them – and it changed the world! This is the pattern we should follow, living as ambassadors to a world that is looking for a peace that only Jesus can bring. Today, we “send out” our graduates, commissioning them to represent Christ wherever they are headed in their next steps.
This week, we’ll be talking about How the Bible Works to Make Us His Ambassadors; we’ll be reading and discussing 2 Corinthians 5:20, 1 Samuel 3, and Jeremiah 20:7-9.
