For many years, God’s people had been looking for a Messiah to rescue them from the captivity they were in. Moses had told the children of Israel, “The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your fellow Israelites. You must listen to him” (Deuteronomy 18:15). From that time on, they had been looking for that Prophet. Eventually the prophet Isaiah came announcing the “Good News” that the God of Israel would one day come and confront all corrupt and violent kingdoms and establish His rule over all nations.
This week, we’ll be talking about How the Bible Works to Teach Us About Jesus, the Messiah and “The Good News” of how these and many more prophecies were fulfilled. We will hear the testimonies of 4 men: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, and how God used them to proclaim the “Good News” of the Messiah coming into the world. We will discuss the significance of this “Good News” in our lives.
