Pastors Mike and John talk discuss a bit more from Sunday’s message, Words of Life.
“What should we do, aside from asking God for forgiveness, when we realize after deeper study that we have ‘advised’ or ‘taught’ the word of God wrongfully in the past? What if the wrongful teaching was done innocently (or ignorantly) at the time?”
“How do we we reconcile James 3:1- a warning that not all of us should become teachers, with the Great Commission in Matthew 28 and instructions to teach the next generation in Deuteronomy 6 and Titus 2? Isn’t every follower of Jesus instructed to teach? Is James talking about a different kind of ‘teaching’ that happens as we make disciples of our kids and our people? What does that look like in 2018?”
Verses discussed and referenced: Acts 18: 24-28, James 3:1-12, 1 Corinthians 4:6, Acts 17:10-15.
