Pastors Joe and John talk a little about Sunday’s message.
Here are this week’s questions:
1. This morning John said that Aaron was wrong for making the golden calf in part because he was saying, “This is what YHWH looks like.” How is this different from Michelangelo painting an image of God on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel? Nobody today knows what Jesus really looked like, but his image as a human could be painted (or even photographed if He was on Earth today). I don’t see that anyone would object to someone painting a likeness of Jesus. But how is creating an image of God with gold different from creating an image of God with paint?
2. This concerns the prohibition against making images of anything basically how do you make that prohibition jibe with Moses fabrication of the bronze serpent also look at 2nd Kings 18:4
